A deviation from the norm today, rather than focus on the Bride I’m looking at Winter Wedding guest fashion ideas. As well as working at a number of Weddings this year, I have also had the pleasure of attending quite a few. The ‘what to wear’ question gets banded around our house from the moment the invitation drops through the front door. There are the practicalities – appropriate footwear, warmth, comfort – as well as the fashion phobia that the photos will be all over Facebook. Hopefully the three on trend looks I’ve put together today will tackle some of those concerns.
First up for the Winter Wedding guest fashion ideas is a ‘High Society’ look. Rich shades of red are a must have this season and I have OD’ed on them here. A maxi dress makes a good Wedding (and in fact wardrobe) staple, I’ve teamed with a cropped black jacket and fur collar here but load with gold bangles and pretty sandals for Summer Wedding. This Reiss dress has a to die for draped back, making it timeless and oh so elegant. Wear with an on trend simple slicked back, center parted bun and minimal make up for the ultimate chic chick status.

A Winter fashion post wouldn’t be complete without an opulent, Dolce and Gabbana inspired ensemble. High lace necks are a high fashion fave that I cannot get enough of. Weddings can be a frightfully expensive business for guests as well as the Bride and Groom, you can’t be seen in the same outfit twice! Next year I’m planning to make the most of the Girl Meets Dress.com service, renting designer dresses has be the most sensible and style savvy option. £29 to hire for 2 days and no dry cleaning costs, versus hundreds on a new gown, that makes fashion sense to me. This Alice and Olivia dress is one that I have my little eye on for this Winter. Wear it with baroque jewellery, black opaque tights and gold embroidered ankle boots to nail the opulence trend.

Finally the Tuxedo is returning after a red carpet hiatus and is perfect for City based marriage celebrations. This has to be one of the best Winter Wedding guest fashion ideas because you can layer thermals underneath! Keep the look firmly feminine with cropped, slim fit tux trousers and killer stilettos. This beaded Art Deco inspired vest will add wow factor and smash another Winter trend, The Great Gatsby decadent style.
