It has been a little while since we had an expert sharing their top tips but I’ve got a treat for you today. The lovely ladies behind Dot Com Gift Shop a personal favourite of mine (check out the Edwardian Parasol Umbrellas, a bargain at £14.95 that I had to get both a black and white one!) are sharing their ideas and advice on Wedding party thank you gifts. There are so many people who help create your dream Wedding and keep you sane that it’s nice to give them something as a thank you. Some couples choose to present gifts and thank people during the speeches, others leave gifts on that guest’s chair or choose to send a little something after the big day. The choice is yours but over to the Dot Com Gift Shop gang for gift advice…
There are so many lovely, glittery things to buy for your bridesmaids you may be spoiled for choice. Think necklaces, earrings and bracelets which you could buy for them to wear at the Wedding, or have them engraved so they’ll always have a memento from the special day.
Finding cool jewellery for men is easier than you might think. As well as classic cufflinks and tie pins, you could also consider something a little more lavish for your best man such as a wristwatch or classic pocket watch. Popular metals for men include silver, tungsten and titanium.
HOME SWEET HOME
Are your best friends fans of all things vintage? Then give them a record player and some of their favourite music on vinyl. And if they like to whip up a storm in the kitchen, consider colourful retro kitchen equipment or a selection of recipe books. Bon appetit!
You may have been presented with some commemorative Wedding champagne flutes, so why not return the favour with some cut glass whisky tumblers, beer mugs or an engraved hip flask? Add a box of chocolates or a silver picture frame for real touch of luxury.
There’s nothing like giving someone a day they’ll never forget. For adrenalin junkies, go for an experience day such as motor car racing, paintballing or even sky diving. If they’d prefer just to relax and be pampered, a weekend spa retreat could be much more their style. If your gift budget is a little smaller you could always treat them to tickets for the cinema, the theatre, or to see their favourite football team. As thanks for attending your day, give your bridesmaids and best man a day of their own!
DON’T FORGET THE PACKAGING
Everybody loves a gift that looks good, and you can easily find all sorts of pretty gift boxes and bags. You could also make your own, or use something they can keep, such as a cute cake tin or picnic basket.
The best thing about these Wedding party thank you gifts is that you can personalise them. Just fill them a bag/box with goodies you know they’ll love such as bath soaps, candles, make-up, perfume, cologne, truffles, miniature bottles of wine and a handwritten thank you message!
WORDS OF WISDOM
When it comes to thanking everyone who has lent a hand with your Wedding, remember who you are buying for and you’ll be sure to find a gift that will bring a smile to your loved ones’ face. Happy hunting!
