Friday October 19 2012.

To give you some Friday night hairspiration I wanted to share one of Spring 2013’s biggest hair trends – tying the knot.  This was a look I spied popping up on runways in Paris and New York and it is totally bridal worthy.

To get the look ensure you start with a poker straight base, blow dry or straighten hair and centre part.  You may have already taken note that the only way to wear you hair this Winter is in a centre parting and that looks set to continue into 2013.  Next fasten in a firm ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with a spritz of high shine hairspray.  Then you can start playing with different ways of tying the knot.  At Chanel the look was loose and adorned with oversized pearls.  A fresh and whimsical look for you Bijou brides.

At Givenchy the knot was a tight twist and much slicker.  To achieve this level of sleek locks, ensure hair is poker straight before tying in a knot and add polish with a high shine spray.

And similarly sleek in appearance but more traditional ballet bun style graced the catwalk at Ralph Lauren.  Unlike Givenchy the tying the knot hairstyle was paired with a much softer make up look, a soft veil pinned just over the bun would look dreamy.

Whilst at Marchesa two tight plaits were added to the front to fit with the ethnic vibe of their Spring 2013 collection.
