I’m back ladies after my trip to the Seychelles (unfortunately I didn’t bump into the Royal newlyweds Wills & Kate), missed me?

Courtesy of hot new photography duo We Heart Pictures and in keeping with my still sunkissed, sparkly mood today’s post features a real bride who chose a look that, rather refreshingly, was not white!

Lovebirds Kana and Nick’s dream for the big day was to combine Jazz golden age glamour with a hint of sparkle and a splash of Japanese influences.  They found their dream venue in Mayfair’s Hotel Westbury “a classic hotel with just the right amount of modernity”, dressing it with off white avalanche rose arrangements from Wild at Heart, served Japanese nouveau cuisine and set the mood with a live Jazz pianist.  Dreamy.

The Bride

The beautiful Kana opted to bedazzle her groom with a silver sequinned Rachael Gilbert dress, shimmering black jewelled peep-toe René Caovilla shoes and a generous dose of diamond jewellery. I love that she didn’t shy away from jewellery with this dress but rather went for all out sparkle in matching necklace and bracelet.  A simple centre parted hairstyle keeps the look firmly rooted in the world of 21st century glamour.

The Groom

Nick knew he’d be in safe hands with his favourite Tokyo store Edifice providing a custom suit and bowtie.  I cannot stress how important and difficult it can be to find a well fitted suit, try to encourage your groom to start his suit hunt early.  For dance floor comfort Nick chose Ferragamo black patent leather shoes.

These stunning pictures were taken by the wonderful Hector and Charlotte of We Heart Pictures; with backgrounds in the fashion and music their style has a definite edge that I was sure my Bijou girls would love.  Check them out at
