If you have been following the blog this year you’ll know that Paris is always the fashion week I most look forward to but I must admit this year New York definitely had more buzz. Anyway what you Bijou brides want to read about are the key trends that emerged from the symphony of marching stilettos and camera shutters. Well ladies, Paris Fashion Week was all about two key trends that will be influencing bridal fashion in 2012 – futurism and random ruffles.
Of course there were those designers that took the ‘Futurism’ concept to the extreme, such as Gareth Pugh (left with this lattice bodycon wonder and Alexander McQueen (right) with a gold corseted look fit for a sci-fi Queen.
Yet for the majority the look was more of a subtle nod to the science fiction visions with padded shoulders and layered patterns.
Ruffle details were added in unexpected places by the Paris Fashion Week designers. Here are a selection of ways you could adopt the trend in your 2012 wedding attire. At Alexander McQueen they frou frou fell from under the bust on this stunning empire line red dress.
Viktor and Rolf placed exaggerated ruffle collars on their dress coats and thus shifted the focus to the neck.

Chanel incorporated asymmetric ruffle details into the pattern of this beautiful cocktail dress.
I always like to pull out a few key pieces that I know you Bijou brides will appreciate.
At Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton dressed each of her models in these intricate lace balaclavas – great for brides having a bad hair day.
Kate Moss looked so amazing at the Louis Vuitton show I just had to share, a great look to inspire Bijou brides.
