Today’s beautiful Montreal wedding is full of sweet moments and heaps of fun along with a giant Hello Kitty. The bride, Moon, has been kind enough to share her refreshingly honest thoughts on the experience of planning a wedding -“I used to think that weddings were overrated but given the amount of time, money and energy you need to put into it, I soon realised just how much work they are!! Even after the wedding, I still felt exhausted but I definitely know it was all worth it.”
“From engagement to our wedding we had 8 months to prepare, with the first wedding taking place in China with my family and the second one in Montreal, celebrating with Andrew’s family as well as our Canadian friends and coworkers.” It was a tough job that required a lot of effort from both the bride and groom. Luckily Moon runs a small wedding business alongside her day job but “also I have some of the most wonderful friends that were willing to help wherever possible. This also helped with costs and being able to make amends to the budget. Two weddings in 8 months in two countries was difficult to afford, but obviously all worth it in the end.”
This is one girl who likes her elegant bling, the wedding dress was covered in large crystals and worn with a statement diamond necklace, tiara, hair comb and multiple bracelets. Moon’s favourite colour is purple and so it was woven throughout day from the bridesmaids dresses to the flowers even the lighting.
Moon had a change of dress ready for the evening’s dancing, a short prom dress with black ribbon belt, perfectly practical. That beautiful statement necklace and tiara however stayed on throughout.
Andrew and his ushers all wore the same suit but the groom teamed it with a lilac shirt and bow tie combination, in keeping with Moon’s chosen colour scheme.
Our bride’s day job sees her working with lots of Mega brands and her favourite of them all is Hello Kitty. Moon was thrilled when the company offered to loan her this huge Mega Hello Kitty for the reception, it was the star attraction, besides the bride and groom of course “This made me, and so many of the guests, very happy.”
Even the lighting at the reception was in keeping with Moon and Andrew’s shades of purple colour scheme.
TIME TO DANCE
The disco time is when you get to let your hair down after all the formalities of the day and simple enjoy being with all your friends and family. Andrew had a little surprise for Bride Moon though as she explains “Andrew and his groomsman did a choreographed dance just for me. Oh WOW, the funny part is that Andrew doesn’t even dance much, but he really surprised me by putting this together for our wedding night. I never really did get a chance to tell him how much I loved the routine. So I want to publicly say ‘Thank you, Andrew, for doing this on our wedding night. I love the way you dance, even if it does make me giggle and laugh out loud.” My heart’s melting, this is so sweet and funny.
WORDS OF WISDOM
We all have something we wish we could change and this can be great constructive advice to other brides to be. For Moon tells us”If I could change one thing about my wedding choices, I would have added a videographer to have even more accurate memories from the night.” I for one would love to have seen a video of the Groom’s dance routine! Congratulations to Moon and Andrew for achieving this amazing Montreal wedding along with a Chinese wedding in just eight months.
