THURSDAY THREADS – MADELINE ISAAC JAMES

Thursday June 30 2011.

I’ve been getting my Vintage Bijou on for the Vintage Wedding Affair this Saturday (eek!).  Whilst fumbling around on the internet searching for inspiration I discovered the new Starlet collection from Madeline Isaac James and had to share on today’s Thursday Threads.

The 16 designs that make up the Starlet collection are inspired by 1930’s sensuality and glamour – remember I told you this would be key trend following the success of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.  Designed using luscious liquid silks, soft chiffons and glitzy Swarovski crystal details Madeline Isaac James has created a very luxurious range guaranteed to make a bride feel like a true Hollywood movie star.

My Bijou edit of the Madeline Isaac James Starlet collection below:

The fitted bodice of the Robyn gown will create curves on a slender or boyish frame.

Whereas this layered chiffon Charlize gown with its clever sash placement will flatter curvacious brides.

The Rosalind dress includes a ruffled train and asymmetric shoulder detail.

Another stunning asymmetric gown here with the Isabella gown and it’s delicate chiffon flower accents.

To inspire Bijou brides looking for 1930’s Hollywood Glamour check out the below Style Board.  This Harlow dress by Madeline Isaac James is a classic 1930’s shape, fitted and flared in sumptuous silk.  I’d team this gown with a range of high shine, sparkling accessories such as this Biba cape (which would look amazing in black and white photographs)and Aruna Seth heels.  But why stop there, this Paul & Joe aptly named ‘Confetti’ nail varnish is deliciously decadent and of course no Queen of the silverscreen would be complete without her tiara and Rene Walrus‘s designs are my favourites for guaranteed wow factor.
