If you read my article in the last issue of Wedding magazine Elegant Minimalist wedding style was one of my big trend predictions. After the exquisite extravagance of all things Deco, there has been a noticeable shift amongst my clients towards a more understated look or as I’ve dubbed it ‘naked elegance.’ Wave bye bye to lavish linens, fussy chair covers and opulent centrepieces, and say hello to plain wood tables, frameless blackboards, naked wedding cakes and vintage cutlery.
The look may be stripped back but it is no less polished. To achieve elegant minimalist wedding style, focus on making quality choices particularly with your furniture. Splurge on wedding breakfast essentials like cut glass tumblers and pretty napkins and surpass the superfluous decorations. Instead of expensive blooms consider using herb sprigs and beautiful branches for your centrepieces, bouquets and wedding aisle dressing. You can even forego traditional white crockery for the wedding breakfast and use wooden boards and sharing platters. It’s all about letting the naked beauty shine so when it comes to your bridal style, drop the accessories and leave hair loose.
