I know the sun’s shining and all we can think of is ice cream and emergency pedicures but today on the blog we’re stepping into a beautiful Christmas Wedding courtesy of Elly Mac Photos. Last December 23rd, Oliver married Leah trading Christmas gimmicks for a splash of Vintage glamour.
Bride Leah wanted to treat her visiting Texan family to the best of British, so the wedding party travelled on a Red Route Master from the service to the reception.
Given the time of year the evening reception carried a festive red theme and the Champagne party room was dressed with elegant Christmas decorations. But those British elements popped up with tables named after famous attractions.
I love a change of outfit and at this Christmas Wedding both the Bride and Groom swapped attire for their evening reception, it was all about red. Bride Leah even treated herself to not one but two pairs of Christian Louboutins!
Leah is a rather handy bride, taking a gold vintage coat and spinning it into this beautiful dress for the moment she exchanged vows with Oliver.
Leah wanted to honour some old family traditions by wearing her Grandmother’s vintage gold cross necklace and adding a 100 year old silver sixpence to her Christian Louboutin heels to symbolise wealth and good fortune in her future married life.
Leah kept her hair and make up artist nearby all day “It was lovely to be able to get a new look for the evening as well as make sure my female guests could have their hair and make up touched up as well.” I love those big curls!
WORDS OF WISDOM
Bride Leah’s top tip for Winter brides “Do some couples shots prior to the Service to take advantage of the daylight. My photographer suggested I bring another pair of shoes with me when doing the shots outdoors prior to the service so as not to ruin my designer shoes. Very good tip!“
Congratulations Oliver & Leah, may your Christmases always be magical.
