Awards season has well and truly begun with Hollywood’s brightest crowding the carpet at the Golden Globes. Often thought of as the practice run for the Oscars let us run through the bridal worthy Golden Globes red carpet looks to wet your Wedding fashion appetite.
My favourite is first, the lovely Amy Adams sexing it up in a nude mermaid gown by Marchesa. Add a long veil at the nape of the neck and a vintage hair comb and this look is ready for the Wedding aisle.

Also in form fitting fishtail was Hayden Panettiere wearing Roberto Cavalli.

The fishtail was certainly the most popular silhouette of the night, take note 2013 brides as I’m sure Wedding dress designers will follow suit. Megan Fox was luscious in lace Dolce & Gabbana.

Shimmering gowns drew many a flash bulb and were another of the bridal worthy Golden Globes red carpet looks. Lea Michele dazzled in Elie Saab, although she made the fatal error of applying too much fake tan and appearing slightly orange.

Stealing the star sparkle was Isla Fisher in heavenly Reem Acra. Brides, I’d team this dress with a loose up do and embellished headband or tiara for an unforgettable Wedding look.

The swinging Sixties proved to be one of the most popular and certainly bridal worthy Golden Globes red carpet looks. Sienna Miller has refreshed her wardrobe since playing Tippi Hedren in ‘The Girl’, to become a sweet Sixties starlet in Erdem.

Another Sixties inspired belle of the Golden Globes was gorgeous Emily Blunt wearing Michael Kors. Just like Sienna, Emily swept her hair back in a simple bun so as not to overpower the look.

Red carpet pro Helen Hunt taught the young pups a thing or two looking to die for in Dolce & Gabbana.

If clean and contemporary is more your style than Anne Hathaway’s Chanel dress could certainly inspire your Wedding dress search.

And finally pregnant Kristen Bell in bride’s favourite Jenny Packham. This dress proves that if you find yourself in the family way, your options are not limited to loose bandeau or grecian style dresses.
What do you get when you cross a Stylist with a Set Designer? Answer: One seriously stylish Wedding. I spied the gorgeous James Hatt and Leith Clark Wedding in Vogue and swooned over Leith’s tiered treasure of a Wedding dress by Valentino.

The glossy nuptials were hosted at Syon Park (link: http://www.syonpark.co.uk/) but continued on to Sicily, who wouldn’t want to drag it out for as long as possible! The pretty bridesmaid line up wore nude Carven mini dresses, I spy Kirsten Dunst and Keira Knightley. And amongst the fellow stylish revellers were some of fashion’s finest Alexa Chung, Clemence Poesy, Karen Elson and Luella Bartley.
It is that time of year when I love to look back at a year in Wedding fashion and these are my favourite 2012 celebrity brides. Who was your favourite?
1. ANNE HATHAWAY
I had to kick things off with perhaps the most ‘wow’ of the 2013 celebrity brides Anne Hathaway. Her good friend Valentino conjured up couture magic for her intimate Californian Wedding, layers and layers of pink dipped silk tulle, sparkles and lace. Of course Anne would look beautiful in anything but just look at that beaming face, this dress must have felt amazing to wear.

2. NATALIE PORTMAN
A long term fan of team Rodarte, Natalie Portman enlisted them to design her Wedding dress. The sweet, dipped hem design with sheer sleeves was perfectly suited for a dance filled Wedding – I wonder if Natalie recreated any of the Black Swan routines with her choreographer husband Benjamin Millepied?
3. DREW BARRYMORE
Drew Barrymore didn’t shy away from her baby bump in a ruffley Chanel wonder when she wed Will Kopelman. I love that Drew carried through the Sixties look with a pouffy veil and oversized earrings. And of course I adored the delicate crystal tiara.
4. MARGHERITA MISSONI
As far as 2012 celebrity brides go Margherita Missoni wins the award for most out there Wedding dress. Designed personally by Giambattista Valli (a running theme with the next 2012 celebrity brides), Margherita romantically recounted ”The dress was made by the women who saw me growing up, following my precise directions and with giamba’s ‘couture counselling’“
5. JESSICA BIEL
As much as I loved Margherita’s Wedding dress my heart lies with Jessica Biel’s pale pink Giambattista Valli gown- fun and dreamy it was as sweet as a raspberry ripple. And from all accounts her Wedding to Justin Timberlake in Southern Italy was exactly the same. Aaahhh.

6. PEACHES GELDOF
Another bride that went for ethereal charm was Peaches Geldof who wore Alberta Ferretti for her rural English nuptials. The daisy chain inspired flower crown was a fun country twist teamed with this antique feel gown.
And the ones that got away (from the cameras)… Blake Lively who married swoony Ryan Reynolds in Marchesa, Evan Rachel Wood opted for a secret ceremony reportedly wearing custom Carolina Herrera and cute as a button Carey Mulligan who wed her Mumford & Sons love in Prada. Sigh.
From Fashion royalty last week to Rock & Roll royalty this week, after Mick Jagger’s daughter Jade Jagger’s Wedding to DJ boyfriend Adrian Fillary at the weekend.
Just like BFF Kate Moss, bride Jade opted for a Cotswolds countryside location for her big day - Aynhoe Park Hotel. The house is owned by music industry big wig James Perkins and describes itself as “a living museum of adventures.” Just look at this place, can you get more Rock & Roll?
Bride Jade Sheena Jezebel Jagger (brilliant middle names) is pretty design savvy being a luxury jewellery designer so it was only natural that she would want to design her own Wedding dress. Jade Jagger’s Wedding dress was bright white, setting off her famous tan, with crystal-embellished straps.
Nicknamed ‘Jadefest’ by her pals in keeping with the bohemian vibe, Jade opted for a flower headdress and her signature tousled hairstyle.
Entertainment was easy to come by with Jade’s dad Sir Mick Jagger taking to the mic to get the dancefloor rocking before husband DJ Adrian Fillary’s mix. The 150 guests including Kate Moss, Jamie Hince, Christian Louboutin, Lizzie Jagger and Jerry Hall, rested their heads after the raucous celebrations in tepee tents pitched around the Wedding venue, in keeping with the bohemian festival theme.
Whilst I was onboard my barge toasting 5 years of Wedded bliss, the famous Missoni fashion family were also celebrating as Margherita Missoni married racing driver Eugenio Amos.
The bride tweeted ”The dress was made by the women who saw me growing up, following my precise directions and with giamba’s ‘couture counselling’“. Margherita Missoni’s long sleeve Wedding dress was designed by friend Giambattista Valli, I was quite surprised when I first read this as surely Margherita would want to wear Missoni but I then discovered the dress was made using family label fabrics – Missoni silk and flower appliqué organza.
I love the asymmetric pouffy sleeves, the embroidered florals and silver laser cut flats only added to the ethereal styling. In a lovely touch bride Margherita switched into a blush pink version of the dress for the Wedding reception, also swapping her art nouveau tiara for a flower crown.

The family connections continued as the reception was held at Margherita’s Mother Angela’s home in the small Italian town of Brunello. An outdoorsy vibe was important to the couple so guest tables were strewn throughout the gardens, dressed of course with signature Missoni bright print table cloths, cushions and tableware.
Did you notice the felt heart place settings?
Journalist Suzy Menkes, a guest on the big day wrote “With a gipsy band strumming, traveling players dangling as acrobats from ethereal lengths of fabric and striped awnings protecting groaning food tables from the light rain, the bucolic party in the Varese countryside looked like a chic remake of Frederico Fellini’s ‘La Strada’.” Dreamy.
The guest list featured a bunch of Fashion World darlings including Anna Della Russo (below wearing Oscar De La Renta), photographer Mario Testino, stylist Carine Roitfeld, fashion journalist Suzy Menkes and Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani as well as music star Marc Ronson.

Most guests embraced the outdoor bohemian theme with floral prints and 70′s styles.
Alessandra who? Well this young Italian actress stole megastar Penelope Cruz’s thunder on the red carpet for Woody Allen’s latest film ‘To Rome With Love’ in which they both star. Wearing favourite designer Valentino Alessandra Mastronardi’s look was totally Bride worthy.
Keeping the style modern and fresh, Alessandra Mastronardi wore red nails and lips – do you think she did those kisses on the film posters?
Cannes film festival has always been a celeb style watch staple in my life and the fashion as Telegraph Deputy Fashion Editor Luke Leitch explains “is almost as vital to oiling the wheels of Cannes as the films are.” This year the ladies of the red carpet have been competing to be the ‘train event’ (see what I did there!) – with trés long dress trains. The most jaw dropping dresses of Cannes film festival fashion have been worn by:
Eva Longoria loved pulling a train so much she sported another on day two.

Taking it to the extreme, Fan Bing Bing is definitely one to add to the future Cannes Film Festival fashion watch list.

And finally my fashion heroine Diane Kruger who revisited her Troy wardrobe in this stunning Grecian Giambattista Valli number. The soft sea green shade is dreamy and a great choice for summer but in ivory this gown would be totally Bridal worthy.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is nearly upon us which got me to thinking about how iconic the Queen’s style is. Here are some top Style tips Bijou brides should note from HRH The Queen of England.
1. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Beautiful jewellery never dates or fails to impress.
2. Perfect Posture. Shoulders back, Neck high - hold yourself in high esteem and look great in photos.
3. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The Queen has been rocking the same look with her curls, well, forever.
4. Treasure your Wedding attire. The tradition of keeping your Wedding dress for your daughter is seemingly on the way out but do keep hold of at least one item – shoes, veil, garter, jewellery – you will cherish them in years to come and your daughter/ in law can incorporate them into their Wedding day look.
The Queen’s style is timeless and I’m still in search of my signature look.
an adjective: ‘desirable, fashionable, stylish, chic, sought-after, to die for’.
