Today I wanted to look at customising another aspect of your celebrations, the liquid refreshments with these alternative Wedding drink ideas.

1. Pretty Petals

Edible flowers can be used to create floral ice cubes, adding a touch of glamour to lemonade or sparkling water beverages.  However my favourite petal addition is the wild Hibiscus flower in champagne, which not only looks amazing but tastes delicious bringing hints of raspberry and rhubarb to champagne.  To serve simply place a whole wild hibiscus flower in the bottom of a champagne flute, pour in a dash of the crimson syrup (wild hibiscus flowers come in a jar with syrup) and top up with bubbly.  The bubbles will stream off the flower and slowly open it up, a guaranteed talking point amongst your guests.   At the end of the drink you can then eat the flower.

2. Ice, Ice, Baby

In this hot weather your guests will be reaching for the ice bucket but why not cool them down with an ice pop cocktail!  A dry Gin and zesty lemonade frozen alcoholic Cocktail Stick sounds just the ticket for cooling off guests in style, invented by the clever people at Icely Done.

3. Home Brew

Beer fans will love this next listing of alternative Wedding drink ideas, designing your own brew to impress your guests.  You choose the recipe, design the labels and then kick back and enjoy the adulation!

4. Man with a Van

A local favourite of mine next, The Juice Dub with its fruit smoothies and drinks that keep me healthy during working hours.  I think this would be such a fun idea if you’re having a festival wedding or lots of under-18’s amongst your guests.

5. Hot Right Now

And finally one for the winter weddings that I spied on Naturally Chic – a hot chocolate and coffee bar where your guests can have fun creating their own custom blends to keep them warm.
