A lovely little shoot to share with you today, sent with love from Edmonton Canada by Birds & Honey (check them out here: www.birdsandhoney.com). I wanted to use the beautiful images captured by Tegan Martin-Drysdale to illustrate how the devil really is in the detail. So here is some Bijou advice on all the small things wedding related that will help inject your personality in your day.
ACCESSORISE TO MAXIMISE
Don’t be afraid of colour, not everything you wear as a bride has to be a shade of white. A big statement necklace is a great way to make your wedding style fresh and contemporary.
The same can be said for an oversized cocktail ring. This turquoise YSL ring is to die for.
How cute are these lace gloves, reminiscent of Madonna in Like a Virgin.
A colourful shawl is another great accessory.
Jazz up that wedding cake with flags and cake toppers. I love the lace flags from Jaden Rain Inspired’s Etsy store used in this beautiful shoot.
Most wedding dresses require some alteration, why not ask your seamstress to pass on any spare fabric that you can then utilise for those little details. Spare lace from your dress can be used to wrap your wedding cake, doesn’t it look stunning.
CAPTURING THE DRESS
Don’t be afraid to move and play around in your wedding photos, movement will show off your dress to the maximum.
And make sure you ask your wedding photographer to capture all the details of your dream dress.
This sheet music bouquet by Valerie Lloyd would be perfect for musicians and music lovers alike. Just think about bringing your personality into every element of your wedding.
Use something special and personal to you as a couple as a wedding prop. Framed love letters, swoon!
