Let's discuss your wedding plans...

I blinked and 2012 was over – time certainly does fly when you’re having fun.  If you’re new to Bijou {welcome} or have missed posts here are a few of my favourite things from 2012 – the newbies, most inspiring real Weddings, highlights from my Bijou projects and the biggie… my Wedding dress of the year!

The NKOTWB (New Kid On The Wedding Block) series of posts are no doubt my favourites to write, discovering new talents and ideas to share with you lovely readers.  In fashion terms those that have made spanking new debuts in Wedding land this year include top designers Roland Mouret and Richard Nicoll to fresh talent such as Katya Katya Shehurina (link:  Bohemian vibe brides will also find the Ceremonials collection from Bona Drag an absolute must visit.

If you are on the hunt for accessories that pack a unique punch, then like me you’ll love Twigs and Honey (link:

It wasn’t all fashion though, this year I also fell in love with new and entertaining ideas for your Wedding celebrations.  Fun in a Photobot (link:, primping in the Vanity Van (link: and finally rocking temporary tattoos .

It has been an honour to share some kick ass Weddings and real bride’s advice on the blog this year but the three I found most inspiring were:

Kel was one free spirited bride whose laid back beach Wedding was too gorgeous for words. See more here:

Kel’s Rustic Beach Wedding

Georgie’s beautiful Australian Wedding gave us all serious colour envy, see more here:

Georgie’s Colour Pop Wedding

The award for craftiest bride has to go to Brooke, who created so many jawdropping decorations and details for her Australian Wedding it made me feel quite inadequate.  See more here:

Of course being blessed with wonderful clients has been the best bit of my job , each Wedding with its own challenge and highlights.  Jenny’s Wedding on the hottest day of the year has featured over on Boho Weddings:  Working with Britten Weddings to develop their 2013 collection campaign produced some of my most cherished images and made me a fan of feathers.  The collection debuted on Love My Dress here:

I was thrilled to be asked to write for Wedding Magazine and The Groom Cupboard, for all your gentleman’s style inspiration, was born.  Check it out here:

As a Stylist I have had the chance to work with some amazingly talented people this year, too many to list but you know who you are.  The projects couldn’t have been more varied, there was The Great Gatsby (featured in Wedding Ideas magazine:, Men’s fashion, Hitchcock heroins (you saw here first: ), Vintage Travel and a Rustic Farm shoot for Whimsical Wonderland Weddings (which is a personal fave as I was playing dress up with the loveliest real brides)

Plus a few more secret projects you will get to see more of in 2013 but lets go out with a bang and my first feature on Vogue Italia.  Yep VOGUE ITALIA eek –

You know I love my fashion so this is a tough one to call but the dress I would most like to take a spin in has to be this couture delight by Reem Acra.  We all know that 1920’s cuts will continue to be big in the New Year but the combination of slinky sequined lace, bridal cap and long pleated tulle veil is to die for.

Bye, bye 2012
