I’m back trend-spotting for you 2018 and beyond Bijou brides. I’ve trawled through all the Spring 2018 bridal collections to pick out the most noteworthy gowns and need-to-know 2018 wedding dress trends. There is a lot to love with these top line trends that are more accessible and adaptable to a variety wedding styles in comparison to seasons past. Let’s get stuck in…
TWO BECOME ONE
Detachable or double skirt overlays are perhaps the biggest news from the Spring 2018 bridal runways. I heart them! Perfect if you can’t make your mind up. A removable full skirt with train works particularly well if you are having two distinct elements to your day, a formal ceremony followed by lots of dancing into the early hours. There are styles to suit every bride too from the boldly embellished to the sleek and simple.
Bishop, Balloon, Juliet, Poet, Trumpet… still with me? All are types of sleeves spotted at New York and Barcelona bridal fashion runways that definitely make a statement. The typical rules of hot weather sleeveless attire don’t apply for 2018 brides with long sleeves most certainly being the in thing. Tight fitting lace sleeves of seasons past are making way for delicate chiffon billowing in the wind, heavy embroidery and even puffed up silk. It’s all about volume and big impact.
BACK TO BLACK
It’s interesting how much impact a touch of black ribbon, belt or bow can have on a gown. As a lover of monochrome attire in my day to day life this is one of the 2018 wedding dress trends I’m most jazzed about. It would make for a particularly strong look if you’re planning on totally monochrome attire for your bridal party.
Let’s face it bright white doesn’t suit everyone so it’s no wonder nude shades through to blush tones are popping up in virtually every bridal designer collection next year. Whether you are looking for a vintage feel from your wedding gown or to make dreamy lace panels and intricate detailing pop, this is a 2018 wedding dress trend to try.
