I know, I know you’ve been wondering where my report on New York’s Bridal Fashion Week has been hiding. 2013 Bridal trends you may be pleased to hear are rather tame in comparison to previous years of black and red wedding dresses, over-sized Gaga worthy flowers and such. Let us indulge in the romance and sensibility of 2013 bridal trends.
The recent spell cast over us by films such as Snow White and the Huntsman and TV show Once Upon A Time have sparked a return of the Princess Wedding dress. Vera Wang ditched the dramatics for an all white collection of Princess worthy gowns. You know wherever Wang goes the rest follow.
If you remember I predicted the mermaid shape would be making a comeback when: http://thebijoubride.com/nfw-springsummer-2012/. Well it’s nothing if not persistent, wiggling its way down the runways at Monique Lhuillier and Romona Keveza to name but a few.
BARELY THERE COVER UPS
We all have a part of our body we dislike and for a lot of us the sheer thought of a strapless dress brings us out in a rash. Well these clever, high fashion bridal cover ups will please you. A light as a feather, lace trimmed chiffon or beaded cape is a key stand out in the 2013 bridal trends.
I love the pop of lilac on this Rivini number.
Is it me or has this film been talked about for too long now, we wanna watch it already! Apparently it is finally hitting cinema screens in Spring 2013, just enough time for art deco and flapper loving brides to get the look. 2013 bridal trends are taking heed and offering up all manner of Twenties cuts, as seen at Badgley Mischka and deco decadent beading presented by Jenny Packham. But I think this Reem Acra gown was my favourite of the Gatsby inspired looks, spied at New York Bridal Week.
