2012 CELEBRITY BRIDES
It is that time of year when I love to look back at a year in Wedding fashion and these are my favourite 2012 celebrity brides. Who was your favourite?
1. ANNE HATHAWAY
I had to kick things off with perhaps the most ‘wow’ of the 2013 celebrity brides Anne Hathaway. Her good friend Valentino conjured up couture magic for her intimate Californian Wedding, layers and layers of pink dipped silk tulle, sparkles and lace. Of course Anne would look beautiful in anything but just look at that beaming face, this dress must have felt amazing to wear.
2. NATALIE PORTMAN
A long term fan of team Rodarte, Natalie Portman enlisted them to design her Wedding dress. The sweet, dipped hem design with sheer sleeves was perfectly suited for a dance filled Wedding – I wonder if Natalie recreated any of the Black Swan routines with her choreographer husband Benjamin Millepied?
3. DREW BARRYMORE
Drew Barrymore didn’t shy away from her baby bump in a ruffley Chanel wonder when she wed Will Kopelman. I love that Drew carried through the Sixties look with a pouffy veil and oversized earrings. And of course I adored the delicate crystal tiara.
4. MARGHERITA MISSONI
As far as 2012 celebrity brides go Margherita Missoni wins the award for most out there Wedding dress. Designed personally by Giambattista Valli (a running theme with the next 2012 celebrity brides), Margherita romantically recounted ”The dress was made by the women who saw me growing up, following my precise directions and with giamba’s ‘couture counselling’“
5. JESSICA BIEL
As much as I loved Margherita’s Wedding dress my heart lies with Jessica Biel’s pale pink Giambattista Valli gown- fun and dreamy it was as sweet as a raspberry ripple. And from all accounts her Wedding to Justin Timberlake in Southern Italy was exactly the same. Aaahhh.
6. PEACHES GELDOF
Another bride that went for ethereal charm was Peaches Geldof who wore Alberta Ferretti for her rural English nuptials. The daisy chain inspired flower crown was a fun country twist teamed with this antique feel gown.
And the ones that got away (from the cameras)… Blake Lively who married swoony Ryan Reynolds in Marchesa, Evan Rachel Wood opted for a secret ceremony reportedly wearing custom Carolina Herrera and cute as a button Carey Mulligan who wed her Mumford & Sons love in Prada. Sigh.
